TRY THIS: Create a Devo in Honor of Dad

I’ve given way more than my fair share of ties and “dad” mugs as Father’s Day gifts. So I thought I’d get a little more thoughtful and create a Bible devotional on my dad’s favorite Bible verses, Psalm 91:1, a passage he calls his “911” Scripture. You’ll see why, in more ways than the obvious, why this is an appropriate moniker.

So, I present to you my devo in honor of my dad. Click here.

And in honor of Father’s Day 2017, I’d like to challenge you and your students to do the same thing. Maybe you too have given your dad enough ties and tools and it’s time to get a little more thoughtful. Try this: Create a Bible devotional in his honor. You can create it for him and give it as a gift; or create it to honor him and share it with friends and family (and with the world, #BibleDevoForDad). Key word: create! Feel free to write it, use video, art, drawing, music or any other creative expression. Just make it a little more involved than a Bible verse and a nature scene. Click here for a blog post on 3 easy steps for creating a Bible experience in honor of Dad.

The link below is my attempt at my own challenge, so feel free to use it as an example (and to use it for your own personal Bible time).

If you’d like a little more instruction on how to do this, check out this blog post. And if you’re a dad reading this, feel free to pass it along to your child as a gift hint!

Happy Commemorating Father’s Day 2017
