Description

Faith, Government and Leadership?

And it’s a Bible study? You might be surprised at the priority God places on His people becoming active in civic and world affairs. Our prayer is that by focusing on the interplay in God’s Word between faith, government and leadership, your students will be ready to apply that knowledge to something God is calling them to—be it as simple as becoming an informed voter or as grand as letting God use them to shape policies and events that could impact a nation.

A Leadership Awakening

For Such a Time as Now!  isn’t a “how-to” for political activism. But it does help students become more aware of the societal structures around them. As they read about Daniel and Esther, they’ll be encouraged to take small steps (like meeting a locally elected official) that can help them apply what they’re seeing in Scripture and begin flexing their leadership muscle.

Through this study, students will:

  • Pick up tips from people like Esther and Daniel on how to engage with their culture.
  • Lock in on the first (or next) election in which they’ll be able to vote.
  • Be challenged to become aware of—and possibly connect with—an elected official, from city council to Congress.

 Testimonials:

“I look forward to more of these studies and so do the students!”  Nicholas, youth worker, Bedminster, NJ

“InWord is the best I’ve found. I really appreciate the quality leader prep. Yours are the only group Bible studies that I don’t worry about ‘tweaking’ or fixing.”  Robby, youth worker, Waunakee, WI

Additional information

Physical (book) and/or Download (PDF)

You can order a book, or a PDF, or both. It’s all according to your and your leaders’ preferences. You’ll need a book or a PDF for each study group. Each option has its pros and cons. One note: if you order a physical book you can still download the student pages for reproducing (you’ll find a password in the book for access to these pages).

Physical (book)

Leaders need one book per group. Student pages are reproducible and still downloadable (you’ll find a password in the book for access to these pages). Pros: It’s already printed out for you and ready to go. This is probably the best set up for personal study. You don’t need access to an electronic device. Cons: It’s obviously a little more costly and keeping track of a book may be less convenient than keeping track of a PDF.

Download (PDF)

Leaders have permission to use one download per group. For example, if you have four groups involved in a study, we ask that you purchase four “downloads.” Student pages are reproducible. Pros: It’s obviously less costly and more portable; depending on how your personal computing is set up, a pdf can be “cloud” based. Cons: Typing your thoughts/notes into a PDF can be a bit clunky and more difficult to use in leading your session.
