In your discipleship planning, have you ever thought something like this? Let’s study Philippians just because it’s Philippians. Think about that. No cool theme or provocative issue. Just…simply…Philippians. Here’s why that could be our best discipleship planning method yet:
- It shows that we trust that God has something to say through His Word.
- It makes God’s Word our starting point, and the star of the show.
- It says to your students that you believe God’s Word to be relevant.
- God will reward you for all the above.
- Your students will too!
Teens are hungry—hungrier than we think. God is patiently waiting to feed and reward hunger—a reward that’s greater than we can imagine. Put the two together over a book of the Bible and get out of the way.
Obviously your choice doesn’t have to be Philippians. We chose Philippians as an example because, well, we just released a revised version of one of our most popular small-group studies, Learning To Be Like Christ, a study in Philippians, and we want you to know about it. We think it’s a great tool for matching up students’ hunger with God’s reward. And, we love the book of Philippians! (And one more thing, we’re currently offering a 15 percent discount!)
Philippians is one of the most encouragement-laden books of the Bible, packed with joy, love, and gentle instructions that lead to a fulfilling life. I’m excited about youth workers having a new tool for helping students explore all that God wants to teach them and accept all that God wants to give them in this powerful book of the Bible.
Options abound with each new revision of InWord’s studies. Everything still revolves around the backbone of any InWord experience: a personal prep for the leader. But now, after enjoying a guided personal study in your InWord Leader Prep book, you can choose from any of these guides (online!) for leading your students:
